Not only are Dragonflies colorful, they can see colors we cannot. With almost 80% of the brain power being related to sight, their incredible 360-degree vision (excluding directly behind them) gives them keep motion detection and the ability to see in the ultraviolet spectrum.
2. Enjoy the Flight
Dragonflies are unparalleled flyers with the grace and elegance of a ballet dancer. They can zip in any direction upwards of 45 miles per hour; up, down, backwards, change direction with seemingly impossible speeds, hover in place, mate, and even catch prey in mid air with calculated aerial ambushes that have a 97% success rate. They do all this by flapping their wings only 30 times per minute, in comparison to a mosquito who flaps its wings 600 times per minute.
